I was inspired to paint "Aqua" from a photo I took of a horse named Kacey. Kacey was an amazingly athletic and playful Arabian gelding who had been orphaned as a foal. His owners hand raised him and he seemed even more full of himself than most horses. He seemed to take pleasure in discovering all the myriad ways his body could move, and he would dive, spin, twirl, and buck and cavort. Kacey is also depicted in "Blithe Spirit" and "So There".
