Eye of the Storm

Eye of the Storm

Six horses ride the crest, as one watches

“Now the great winds shorewards blow;
Now the salt tides seawards flow;
Now the wild white horses play,
Champ and chafe and toss in the spray.”

~ Matthew Arnold

In my horses in the elements series, I reveal the shapes of horses I find in natural elements. I love the wildness in these horses. Their forms were so clear in this wave. If the viewer is at all familiar with the famous painting “Pharoah’s Horses”, they may recognize the inspiration for the center horses. The most difficult horse to find is the third horse hiding behind the necks of the two center horses.
