THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
This painting was one of the first pieces I created when I was learning to work in pastel. It was unique in that the art looked just as I had envisioned it in my mind’s eye. I rarely see complete images of my paintings in my imagination. Rather an idea usually comes to me as a subtle impression or a feeling that evolves as I work. This horse had no such vagueness. This creature was to be a stallion the color of bronze and the embodiment of inner and outer strength.
