Freefall ~ Nine horses descend the falls
We are the Horses of Water
In motion, our creative energies carve canyons
through what seems solid
and open new channels
where there is only a trickle
We remind you that the river of life
can be either tranquil or turbulent
yet it is always in motion
Join us in our dancing cascade of power
Let it wash away the frozen eddies of past hurts
and free up the tangled roots of today’s doubts

THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
I had wanted to portray horses in a waterfall for years, but most waterfalls do not usually flow in the shapes of horses. Then I found this icy cascade. This waterfall is from a place in Iceland called Thingvellir, the historic place of the origins of Iceland’s democracy. Interestingly, the shapes of horses appearing in the waterfall looked like Icelandic horses with their long, shaggy manes and coats, which might have been the breed of horses carrying riders to that historic place.
