THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
I met this beautiful stallion named Patrick on a winter’s day in California. His owners had transported him from the mountains down to Riverside, where I could meet and photograph him for his portrait while I was in the area. We were standing in 80-degree sunshine, but the beautiful waves on Patrick’s glossy winter coat made him look like he came from the far north. Their home in the snowy mountains inspired me to suggest Patrick’s portrait be in the snow. One of the photos I took of him conveyed the magic of his sweet demeanor, and the title celebrates just that.
