Ivy
I waited for others who did not come
My heart was as fragile as glass
When a new opportunity presented itself
I couldn’t believe I’d been asked
Like a princess in a faerie taleIt seemed once upon a time
But there I was with flowers in my hair
When you asked, “Will you be mine?”

THE STORY BEHIND THE ART
Jody found her two Arabian horses in different ways, but what they had in common was they had been overlooked by others. Jody is an endurance rider and she saw their potential and brought them to her farm. First, she bought Duke, and later she acquired Ivy. With her love and attention, they blossomed into talented endurance horses that have given her many exciting milestones to celebrate their mutual success. Most of all, they became a bonded pair, and that is a love story to celebrate! Jody’s creative young daughter had a penchant for weaving flowers into her horse’s manes, so we took that idea and with Washington fauna in mind I chose Sweet Pea for Duke and Ivy of course, for Ivy. When I told Jody my choice she said, “Duke is my sweet pea!”
